Hi! I’m Zahra Sami and like you, I LOVE to dance!! Over 10 years ago I was looking for a type of dance to call my own and I found it-Egyptian Dance.

I began studying Egyptian dance (also known as oriental dance and raqs sharqi) at the Academy of Egyptian Dance, directed by Sahar Sami in San Diego, CA. I was hooked from the beginning. The beauty of the dance, the femininity and the challenge all spoke to me!

I was lucky to find my dance mentor and teacher, Sahar Sami, right from the start of my Egyptian Dance Journey. Through her mentorship and teaching I have grown immensely as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and performer. While I am always learning, I am proof of what can be achieved!
I’m a multi-award-winning dancer and a certified teacher. I would have never imagined all those years ago how Egyptian Dance would transform me, my life, and taken me all over the world for amazing dance adventures!
I've had the pleasure of dancing, teaching and performing all over the US, Egypt and other amazing locations worldwide. I'm the Director of the Glitter Dance Company, a Student Dance Troupe and a member of the Sahar Dance Company, a professional troupe, as the lead dancer. I am a certified instructor of the Academy of Egyptian dance.

I've studied with the best of the best Egyptian Dance teachers here and in Egypt. Teachers such as, Mahmoud Reda, Farida Fahmy, Mohamed Kazafy, Ahmed Husein, Yousry Sharif and Tito Seif, to name a few. I've also performed with master tabla players Gamal Goma and Amir Sofi.

I'm now based in Ventura County; CA and I offer weekly classes live online and in studio. I'd love to be able to share my passion and expertise in Egyptian Dance with you!
